For the first time since the show started, YachtTalk is being broadcast from the Heesen shipyard in Oss to witness the launch of the world’s largest and fastest full-aluminium superyacht: Project Cosmos. Some of the yacht’s most notable features are the fully-rated helicopter landing pad that transforms into an outdoor cinema, the glass elevator and the glass-bottom seven-metre pool with a waterfall. In this special episode, we will discover why this flagship build is not only a great milestone in the shipyard’s history, but also for the yachting industry in general.

Arjan Veldman

Project Coordinator at Heesen

As a project coordinator, Arjan has the dynamic role of being the main point of contact between the owner and the shipyard; this means all communications, requests and comments from the owner’s team to the yard and vice versa go through him. Furthermore, Arjan is responsible for guiding the production team towards launch and delivery.

James Russell

Associate, yacht exteriors at Winch Design

James Russell has been part of the Winch Design team since 2013 and is responsible for some of the finest yacht exteriors in the industry. From the first exploratory sketches to the final design and GA, James has worked with his team at Winch together with the owner’s team and Heesen to give Cosmos her distinctive, signature profile.

Chris Guy

Build Captain on Project Cosmos

To be put in charge of one of the most technologically complex yachts ever built would be a daunting challenge for most yacht captains, but for Chris Guy it was more like a logical career progression. Having worked with Heesen since 1996 as chief engineer and build captain, Guy has co-developed and sailed some of the finest superyachts ever built, including former Heesen flagship yacht, Galactica Super Nova.
